City had the most players of all clubs participate in the World Cup this past December. City had 16 players play in the tournament. In total, there were 21 players from City Football Group of clubs that went to Qatar.
Julian Alvarez would ultimately be the most successful City player at the World Cup. He’d return to the club with a winners medal after Argentina’s win over France in the final.
✍️ A reminder Julian Alvarez only cost Manchester City £14million in January.

Each club received £9388 per player for every day a player was at the tournament.
The news continues a profitable off-season thus far for the champions. A new sponsorship deal with crypto company OKX and an expanded partnership with Asahi Super Dry have boosted City’s bank balance.
City is also bringing in a constant stream of transfer revenue with the sale of Academy players. Shea Charles just completed a move to Southampton, which continues the success of the City Academy as a source of income for the club.
Also, with Manchester City expecting club-record revenue after last season’s treble success, the club continues to succeed off the pitch.
