Callum Doyle set to join Leicester City on loan

Callum Doyle will join Leicester City on loan for one season this summer.

According to Jack Gaughan of the Daily Mail, the 19-year-old centre back will be on loan with no option for Leicester to buy.

Following loan spells at Coventry and Sunderland, Doyle will join former City coach Enzo Maresca.

Maresca was Manchester City’s U23’s coach, then after a brief stint as head coach returned as assistant to Guardiola.

Although newly relegated Leicester will play Championship football, Doyle has the experience.

The City youngster made 41 Championship appearances during his time at Coventry.

John Percy of the Telegraph reports that Doyle will have his medical at Leicester this week. Leicester City’s first game of the season will be against his former club, Coventry. Therefore, he could make his debut for against a familiar side.

Manchester City tied the centre-back to a new long-term deal earlier in the year following his impressive form during his loan appearances. His deal expires in 2027, however there is an option to extend to 2028.
