As Manchester City continue their fine form on the pitch they appear to be plotting moves for the summer. The summer transfer window is only months away from opening. City do appear to be attempting to get their summer plans in order. With that in mind could the European champions bring in a pair of Brazilians to bolster their squad for next season and beyond?
Lucas Paqueta and Savio have both been heavily linked with summer moves to the world champions. Fabrizio Romano reports that Manchester City have completed a deal with Troyes for young winger Savio. The Brazilian winger has starred for Girona this season which has seen him clinch a move to treble winners this summer. With a deal for Savio reportedly complete could the champions also add another Brazilian to their ranks?

Pete O’Rourke reports for footballinsider247.com that City are likely to return for West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta this summer. He further adds that West Ham is likely to accept an offer for the Brazilian international if it meets their asking price. Furthermore, O’Rourke reports that the betting investigation that scuppered Paqueta’s move to City last summer is likely to be concluded soon. With the betting investigation into Paqueta complete it could potentially pave the way for City to return for the West Ham star this summer.
What could the pair of Brazilians add to City’s squad?
Savio and Lucas Paqueta could potentially bring a wealth of talent to the Etihad. The pair are both elite options in the final third. Their addition to the Manchester City squad would add even more attacking options to Pep Guardiola’s squad.
Lucas Paqueta was the main creative weapon for West Ham before being struck down with injury. He had contributed 5 goals and 6 assists in 27 appearances for David Moyes side. His ability to dictate games and his creativity from midfield was a key asset for West Ham.
Manchester City do however appear to have a plethora of options in the centre of the pitch. With Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Mateo Kovacic, Matheus Nunes and Phil Foden all capable of playing centrally it could potentially require a player to depart the club to cater for Paqueta’s arrival. That would be a question that would need to be answered in the summer.
Savio has starred for Girona this campaign playing on a wing. His ability to play on either the left or the right wing would be a major asset for the world champions. He has contributed 7 goals and 7 assists in 28 appearances for Girona this season. The winger has been a key contributor to their rise up the La Liga table. Savio would be a dynamic option for City’s right-hand side if and when his move to City is made official.
If the pair of Brazilians do land at Manchester City this summer it would be a massive boost to the world champions squad. They’ll be adding two dynamic options to what is already arguably the best squad in European football.
