(Video) Manchester City grind out win over Nottingham Forest

Esteemed Kompany host Steven Mcinerney reacts as Manchester City grind out a 2-nil win over Nottingham Forest. The champions were forced to scrap to maintain their perfect start to the Premier League season.

Steven Mcinerney reacts as City extended their winning streak to 6 league games. City dominated the first half and went in with a comfortable lead. The second half was a different story as Rodri saw red for his tussle with Morgan Gibbs-White. It was a rare moment of madness from Rodri. He will now miss City’s clash with Arsenal at the Emirates. Plus he will be missing for the Carabao Cup clash with Newcastle next weekend’s league clash with Wolves.

The treble winners secured their win after first-half goals from Phil Foden and Erling Haaland. The opening 20 minutes saw the champions at their best as they comprehensively outplayed Nottingham Forest. Foden’s opener came off the back of a flowing 46-pass move and a superb layoff from Kyle Walker. Foden then played a crucial role in Haaland’s goal as he played through Matheus Nunes to cross for Haaland to head home.

The second half was an entirely different affair to the first. Rodri saw red just as the second half kicked off. His dismissal saw Manchester City show their resolve to keep out Forest. It was a determined showing from Pep Guardiola’s squad. Titles are won on the back of performances like that, and City showed their winning mentality again.

Hear about all of this and more from Steven Mcinerney as Manchester City grind out a 2-nil win over Nottingham Forest.
