Manchester City vs. Brentford postponed for FIFA Club World Cup

Manchester City’s home fixture against Brentford has been postponed following the release of the FIFA Club World Cup dates.

City were due to face Brentford on Saturday the 23rd December. A new date for the Premier League fixture will be announced in due course.

The Blues will head to Saudi Arabia to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup after winning the Champions League.

The international tournament will take place between the 12th and 22nd of December and City could add to their silverware before Christmas.

Real Madrid are current holders of the international title following their European victory in 2022.

Seven teams will compete in the competition at the end of the year. This will be the final tournament in its current format ahead of the expanded 32-team competition in 2025.

However, the European Champions do not enter until the semi-final.

Manchester City’s first Premier League fixture is Burnley away on Friday the 11th of August.

But first up is the pre-season tour of Asia. The Boys in Blue return to training on Monday 17th July.
