Are two of Manchester City’s key pieces set to remain at the club?

Are two of Manchester City’s key pieces Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne set to remain at the club for next season? The future of the key duo is one of many stories to watch for at Manchester City this summer. Two new reports indicate that the pair may remain at the club for next season.

First of all, Rob Dawson has reported for ESPN that there is growing hope that Bernardo Silva may remain at Manchester City this summer. Furthermore, Dawson reports that Barcelona and PSG are unlikely to move for the Portuguese international this summer. Dawson reports that Barcelona appear unable to afford a move for Bernardo. He also reports that PSG are focused on other transfer targets this summer.

Lastly, Pete O’Rourke has reported for footballinsider247.com that Manchester City doing all they can to sign Kevin De Bruyne to a new contract. O’Rourke adds that De Bruyne’s current contract expires at the end of next season. Furthermore, O’Rourke reports that De Bruyne is in the box seat regarding negotiations over a new contract. It is also reported by O’Rourke that Saudi Pro League clubs have an interest in signing Kevin De Bruyne.

Manchester City will be hoping to keep two of their key players at the club.

Given their importance to Pep Guardiola’s squad, the champions will be hoping to keep Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva. They are both two of Manchester City’s key players and that was on full display throughout the 23/24 season. Without their valuable contributions, it is doubtful that Pep Guardiola’s side would’ve created history and clinched a fourth consecutive Premier League title this season. They also are key leaders on and off the pitch for Manchester City. If they both did depart this summer it would leave a huge void in Pep Guardiola’s squad.

The early signs heading into the transfer window appear to be that De Bruyne and Bernardo may both remain at Manchester City. While that could change it would be a massive boost for the champions if they could keep two of their most important players for next season.
