Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirms that Ilkay Gundogan will be joining Barcelona.
The club will be able to register the City captain following rumours earlier today that movement could be soon.
Gundogan has made his decision not to extend his contract with Manchester City after a treble winning season.
He emphatically captained the side to one of the most successful seasons in their history. Winning the Premier League, FA Cup and City’s first ever Champions League.
The German midfielder will go down as one of Pep Guardiola’s best ever signings in Manchester. A leader who had an undeniable talent for turning up in big moments.
While the FA Cup final was an incredible team effort against Manchester rivals United, he was the match winner.
Silky Ilkay made the scousers cry, but now blues may bid a tearful farewell.
A well-respected player by club and fans, best wishes began to pour on social media earlier today.
Looking at the bigger picture what a player Gundogan has been for us, he’s 33 now so maybe a good time for a change…does he deserve a statue of some sort
