Manchester City will certainly replenish their midfield this summer. The City hierarchy would be derelict in their duties if they didn’t. A new report indicates that Morgan Gibbs-White wants a summer move to Manchester City. Another report also indicates that a potential City target could end up in the Premier League this summer.
Morgan Gibbs-White reportedly wants a move to Manchester City.
Fraser Fletcher has reported for TeamTalk that Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White wants a summer move to Manchester City. Furthermore, Fletcher reports that City are intensifying their efforts to sign Gibbs-White this summer. Fletcher further reports that City view Gibbs-White as a player with the perfect profile to improve Pep Guardiola’s squad. Lastly, Fletcher reports that Manchester City could sign Morgan Gibbs-White for a transfer fee of between £60-70 million from Nottingham Forest.
Morgan Gibbs-White, as a player, would add exactly what Manchester City needs. Gibbs-White is a fighter in midfield, and Pep Guardiola’s side would benefit from that attribute. The England international can also pick out a pass and is an attacking weapon from midfield. He has shone for Nottingham Forest this season, and his stock has risen. There is a void in Pep Guardiola’s squad that needs to be filled with Kevin De Bruyne’s impending departure. Gibbs-White wouldn’t be a De Bruyne replacement, but he would fill a hole in the City squad if they could sign him this summer.
Another potential City target could be Premier League-bound.
Fabrizio Romano has reported for CaughtOffside that Xavi Simons could be Premier League bound this summer. Romano further reports that RB Leipzig could sell Xavi Simons for a transfer fee of between €70-75 million this summer. Furthermore, Romano adds that Bayern Munich and Barcelona do have an interest in signing Xavi Simons. But Bayern Munich would only move for the Dutch international if they failed to sign Florian Wirtz. Barcelona likely couldn’t afford a move to Xavi Simons based on the club’s financial situation, as per Romano’s report. Lastly, Fabrizio Romano adds that a move to the Premier League does appeal to Xavi Simons. Romano doesn’t list any potential Premier League suitors at this stage.

If Manchester City do need to sign a number 10 this summer, I outlined the case for City to sign Xavi Simons yesterday. He’s a player that would add exactly what Pep Guardiola’s squad desperately needs. But any potential City move does depend on whether the club intends to sign a number 10 this summer. That’s the variable in the equation. Dean Jones and Danny Rust have previously reported for GIVEMESPORT that Manchester City have an interest in signing Xavi Simons. So it is a move that could happen this summer.
It seems that Manchester City are moving to sign a midfielder this summer. Their move for Morgan Gibbs-White seems to be coming together. Xavi Simons could also be Premier League bound. The options to bolster City’s midfield appear to be there now it’s a matter of them completing a deal for one player, and if they move for another.
I prefer the two to Witzs.
This is the right time to be angry. Buying players out of anger. It’s useless being angry while loosing. Please please pep bring both players to city.
We really don’t want Wirtz if as an adult he needs his parents to tell him which team to go to then there is a problem besides his fee is massive and without being rude players who have good stats in their league don’t always show up in the premier league
We’ve had good success signing players from the Bundesliga. Haaland, Akanji are just two recent examples.
Marmoush has shown he could be a player to.
But I agree with your sentiment on Wirtz. The price tag is hefty, and City have many areas that must be addressed not just the one.
