For the majority of the international break, it felt like the verdict in Manchester City’s 115 case could drop at any moment. That situation hovered over the majority of the international break until the realisation set in that the wait for the verdict was set to continue. At Manchester City, nothing changes as the wait goes on. It’s business as usual as the football world waits for the verdict in arguably the biggest story in sport currently.

Speaking during his pre-game press conference ahead of Manchester City’s FA Cup quarter-final tie against Bournemouth Pep Guardiola was asked if he was frustrated that the verdict in the 115 case hasn’t arrived. Guardiola told the media that nothing has changed at the club. His response to the question can be seen below.

David Ornstein shares his thoughts on the 115 and when the verdict could be released.

Speaking during his latest Q&A segment for The Athletic, respect journalist David Ornstein shared his thoughts on when the verdict in the 115 case could arrive. When asked about the situation he said: “People have been saying things like ‘imminent’, ‘this week’, ‘tomorrow’ for ages now, and that shows most of us simply don’t know – probably only a small number involved in the process do. The expectation at Man City has been ‘spring’, and if that’s the case, we’re into that.

However, it’d also mean we could be waiting until late June!”

“Plus, as long as we don’t have anything firm from the Premier League, City or other parties privy to the matter, it’s largely speculation and perhaps subject to change.

Conclusion.

As they wait for the verdict in the 115 case, it’s business as usual at Manchester City. There is no reason for anything to change at the club. On the pitch, Pep Guardiola and his team are preparing for an FA Cup quarter-final clash with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday. That is the focus of the City manager and his players. There’s no reason for them to worry about matters off the pitch.

Off the pitch, Manchester City continue to plan for a busy summer in the transfer market and for their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup. The 115 case won’t change any of those plans at the club. There’s no reason for it to based on the belief of the Manchester City hierachy that the club hasn’t breached any of the Premier League’s financial rules.

When the verdict in the 115 case arrives we will have our answer to the entire situation. But for now, that wait will continue. At Manchester City nothing changes and they continue to go about their business in the manner that they have since the Premier League charges were announced against them in February 2023.

  1. As each day goes by I feel confident that City will be successful. From what I’ve heard, even reports on radio, and what certain people have said ,especially from City. There’s a large amount of hatred and jealousy out there, brought on by the media, around the country which is here to stay.
