Finally the end is in sight in Manchester City’s 115 case but it won’t arrive soon enough

Since the 24/25 season began Manchester City’s infamous 115 charges case has rumbled away in the background. It has been hard to avoid the topic based on the coverage of the entire affair. It is the biggest story in English football and will be for some time yet. Now a new report indicates that an ending is in sight to the entire affair. But the ending won’t come soon enough as the game, Manchester City and the Premier League seek to move on from the entire affair.

A report from The Lawyer’s Christian Smith indicates that the hearing in front of an independent panel between Manchester City and the Premier League is set to conclude in the near future. Furthermore, Smith reports that the hearing is currently on pause as both sides prepare their closing arguments. Smith further reports that the hearing is set to resume in mid-December.

Based on two further reports the entire saga may not be concluded until the end of this season. Football finance expert Stefan Borson has reported via X that there appears to be little chance of the entire affair being resolved by the end of this season. Borson adds that there is now little chance of a result being known in the hearing for quite some time yet. Martyn Ziegler has also echoed the thoughts of Borson for the Times. Ziegler further reports that if either side appeals the independent panel’s verdict, the case will likely not be resolved until the end of May.

An ending is in sight to Manchester City’s 115 case, but it still won’t arrive soon enough.

Based on the multiple reports that are listed above there is an ending in sight to Manchester City’s 115 case. But it is still months away. That was always expected to be the case. But as the saga drags, the sooner the entire affair has an ending, the quicker Manchester City and everyone involved in the case can move on.

For Manchester City, they are eager to clear the club’s name. The club’s stance has not changed throughout the entire affair. Manchester City’s belief has always been that the body of irrefutable evidence will prove the club’s innocence. The hope is for everyone associated with the club that this proves to be the case. But at least there appears to be an ending in sight to the affair. So perhaps that day is coming but it is still a while away yet.

The sooner this whole saga is wrapped the better it will be. It has dragged on for too long but that isn’t a surprise. Legal matters such as Manchester City’s 115 case and hearing need time to be resolved properly. An ending is in sight to the whole saga based on a host of new reports. Unfortunately it is still some way off. But that is the nature of legal matters so the saga will roll on for a few months yet.
