But you do get the sense that the quicker a decision is made by Guardiola on his future the better it will be for him and Manchester City.
Matteo Moretto has reported for Relevo that Pep Guardiola and Manchester City are set to meet this week. Furthermore, Moretto reports that a possible contract renewal for a further season will be on the agenda when the two parties meet. Lastly, Moretto adds that Manchester City are determined to keep Pep Guardiola on as manager.
Based on Moretto’s report this week is looming as a pivotal week in regards to Pep Guardiola’s future. With a meeting reported to take place between Guardiola and City perhaps the situation surrounding his plans is nearing a resolution. Moretto adds that Brazil has sounded out Guardiola to gauge his interest in managing the five-time world champions. So it appears that it is down to staying at Manchester City or trying to restore a footballing giant to past glories are the two choices for Pep Guardiola.
From a Manchester City point of view, the sooner Guardiola’s future is resolved, the better. If Guardiola stays on the club can plan for the future with Pep. If he intends to call time on his Manchester City career the club can plan accordingly. The club will need time to find an appropriate replacement for the greatest manager in their history.
