As Manchester City fight their way through an injury crisis of sorts it does appear that champions could do with some reinforcements in January. City’s squad is currently ravaged by injuries and fatigue. But there is one special talent that will arrive at the club in January. That player is Claudio Echeverri. He has shown once again just how prodigious a talent he is with a dominant display for River Plate during their 3-1 win over Banfield.
What stood out In Echeverri’s performance against Banfield was his ability on the ball. He was tidy in possession and his ability to play a key pass was full on display. Echeverri picked up an assist as he set up River Plate’s second goal in their win. It was a marvellous piece of play from Echeverri. The assist from the young playmaker can be seen below.

But what is becoming apparent every time Echeverri plays for River Plate is how special a player the 18-year-old is. As he plays more first-team football for River Plate, it is clear that he is developing as a player. His talent is obvious but he looks to be taking massive strides now as a player. That is good news for Manchester City ahead of his arrival at the club in January.
But what is becoming clear is that a special player is set to arrive at the Etihad in January. If Echeverri’s performance against Banfield is any indication it is clear that the young playmaker may be ideally suited to life in Pep Guardiola’s squad. The more you see him play the more it becomes clear that Echeverri is a special talent.
