Three players return for Manchester City in a huge boost before Bournemouth clash

Manchester City have received a massive boost ahead of their Premier League clash with Bournemouth. Following City’s defeat to Tottenham on Wednesday it had appeared that the City squad would be severely depleted for today’s match.

But when the starting lineups were announced for today’s Pep Guardiola’s side has received the good news that a trio of key players are fit to return. Kyle Walker, Kevin De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku have all returned to the Manchester City squad for today’s match.

Kyle Walker will start at right-back for today’s match. City’s captain hasn’t played for the champions since the 3-2 win over Fulham early in October. On top of having Walker back the chance to rest Rico Lewis is a huge boost for Pep Guardiola’s side. Walker had picked up a knee injury on international duty with England in October. His return is a surprise but a massive boost for Manchester City.

The return of Kevin De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku to the City bench is also welcome news. In De Bruyne’s case, he had missed City’s past 9 matches with a groin injury. Pep Guardiola told the media yesterday that De Bruyne had made progress in the past few days. That progress has seen him return to the bench for today’s match.

Jeremy Doku had been out with an undisclosed injury he sustained in City’s 2-1 win over Wolves at Molineux late last month. His return is a surprise and it gives Pep Guardiola an extra attacking option off the bench for today’s match against Bournemouth.
