Is Manchester City’s captain set to return to the City squad today?

Manchester City’s captain, Kyle Walker, has been out injured since the previous international break. Walker sustained a knee injury while away with England. Pep Guardiola had informed the media that Walker was set to return after the upcoming international break. But reports have emerged via X that City’s captain is set to be included in the champions travelling squad for today’s clash with Bournemouth. If the new reports are correct that would be a huge boost for Pep Guardiola’s side.

City Xtra has relayed a report on X  from X account FPLMaineRoad that Kyle Walker is part of Manchester City’s travelling squad for today’s match. If that report is proven to be correct that is a huge boost for Manchester City. City’s captain has missed City’s past four games with a knee injury.

With Kyle Walker out Rico Lewis has had to shoulder a heavy burden at right-back for Manchester City. To Lewis’ credit he has stepped up when his team has needed him the most. But as with all players the time comes when they do need rest. If Kyle Walker is on the comeback trail beginning today then support for Rico Lewis is ok the way.

Besides providing cover for Rico Lewis Kyle Walker is still an integral part of Manchester City’s squad. With his experience, pace and defensive acumen Walker has a key role to play this season. The sooner he is back in contention to play the better it will be for the world champions.

Reports indicate that Manchester City’s captain has travelled with his teammates for today’s clash with Bournemouth. That is a boost for City if indeed Walker is a part of City’s squad today. That would mean he is nearing a return in good news for the world champions.
