Manchester City are hoping to get through the Tottenham clash unscathed

Up next for Manchester City is their fourth-round Carabao Cup tie against Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Heading into the game it will be interesting to see what lineup Pep Guardiola selects for the game. It does appear that several of City’s stars may be rested for tomorrow evening’s match. But more important than that the hope is that the world champions pick up no fresh injury concerns tomorrow night.

Speaking during his pre-game press conference ahead of tomorrow night’s match, Pep Guardiola was hopeful of a good performance from his team. But more importantly, he was hoping for no fresh injury concerns for Manchester City to come out of the game. The City manager had this to say to the media when speaking about the clash with Tottenham: “We have a few players. We are going to try and do a good game to try to go through. Always it happens. Last season we were out against Newcastle but played really well. Perform well, this is what I want, no injuries please and go to the last week before the international break in November.

There is little doubt that no matter what lineup Pep Guardiola picks for tomorrow night’s match Manchester City will be playing to win. That is demanded by Guardiola and his team always looks for a result. But there may something else at stake tomorrow night. That is the physical condition of the City squad.

Currently Rodri, Oscar Bobb, Kyle Walker, Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku are sidelined with injury concerns. Pep Guardiola didn’t provide an update on his squad earlier today. But the hope is that the Manchester City squad comes through tomorrow night’s match unscathed.
