Manchester City’s Brazilian winger has taken to life at the Etihad like a duck to water

Since arriving at Manchester City from Troyes Brazilian winger Savinho has made an impressive start to his City career. The Brazilian international has taken to life at the Etihad like a duck to water. If the start to his time at Manchester City is any indication of what is to come in the future the champions have another top quality winger on their hands.

The majority of players signed by Pep Guardiola at Manchester City have needed time to adjust to the demands of their manager. There are exceptions to this like Erling Haaland, Ederson and a couple more. But generally, players need to acclimatise to life at the world champions. But Brazilian winger Savinho has immediately established himself in the City lineup.

There have been flashes of brilliance all season to date from the 20-year-old Brazilian international. His dribbling skills have stood out in nearly all of his appearances for Manchester City. He also has an eye for a pass and cross. That was evident in the assist he provided for Erling Haaland’s wonder strike against Sparta Prague. Savinho has also shown the defensive side to his game. His ability to track back and press his opponents shows how quickly he has learned what is expected from him at Manchester City. All told Savinho has made an impressive start to his City career.

Speaking during his pre-game press conference ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Southampton Pep Guardiola was full of praise for Savinho. The City manager has been impressed with the determination the Brazilian winger has to be the best player he can be. Guardiola explained: “What I like is I have the feeling he wants to be the best, the best on the pitch, to try things and participate in everything, to have the ball and try again.

Although Savinho is yet to score his first goal for Manchester City Guardiola has been happy with his determination to score. He added: “He’s not scoring goals but he will take the ball and shoot. We had a free-kick against Wolves and he wanted to take it. He’s a young guy and I have the feeling that he’s here to become a good player. That defines the really good players. With courage and consistency with h,is ambition he will get there.

Savinho has made an impressive start to his Manchester City career. He has immediately slotted into the City squad. That is no easy feat, especially for a 20-year-old in a new country. The fact that Savinho has immediately adjusted to life in Pep Guardiola’s squad is the ultimate compliment to the young winger.
