The starting lineups are in ahead of Manchester City’s clash with Wolves

Manchester City and Wolves have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of today’s clash at Molineux. Today’s game will see second-placed City take on the Premier League’s bottom-placed side. But no game is a formality and a tough test awaits Pep Guardiola’s side.

For Manchester City, they come into today’s game off the back of a hard-fought 3-2 win over Fulham a fortnight ago. But there were cracks on display during City’s win over the Cottagers. Pep Guardiola will be hoping that he has ironed those out over the international break.

Rodri and Oscar Bobb will miss today’s game due to long-term injuries. Nathan Ake and Kevin De Bruyne both returned to training this week but it is doubtful whether or not they will take any part in today’s match. The other question mark is over Manuel Akanji’s availability for today’s game. Pep Guardiola told the media Friday that Akanji had picked up an injury issue over the international break.

Here are the starting lineups for today’s match at Molineux.

Manchester City

Pep Guardiola has made three changes to the team that beat Fulham a fortnight ago. In comes John Stones, Jeremy Doku and Savinho. Out goes Manuel Akanji, Jack Grealish and Phil Foden who all drop to the bench.

Nathan Ake returns to the City squad and is a substitute for today’s match. Kevin De Bruyne is out of today’s game despite returning to training this week. Kyle Walker also hasn’t travelled for today’s match after being deemed not fit enough to travel.

Starting lineup: Ederson, Lewis, Stones, Ruben Dias (C), Gvardiol, Kovacic, Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, Savinho, Doku, Haaland.

Substitutes: Stefan Ortega, Carson, Ake, Grealish, Akanji, Nunes, Foden, O’Reilly, McAtee.
