Manchester City’s magician, Kevin De Bruyne, looks set to return to the pitch after the upcoming international break. De Bruyne has been out with a groin injury since Manchester City’s nil-all draw with Inter Milan at the Etihad Stadium. Manchester City have missed their inspirational midfielder but it now appears that he will be back in action in the near future.
Speaking before Manchester City take on Slovan Bratislava in UEFA Champions League action Pep Guardiola provided a brief update on De Bruyne’s injury. He told the media that Manchester City’s magician is likely to return after the international break. Kevin De Bruyne didn’t travel with the City squad to Slovakia. When asked about De Bruyne’s injury, Pep Guardiola said: “Hopefully, after the international break, he [Kevin] will be back. Everybody is ready – we will put out the best team possible to compete and beat them.”
Kevin De Bruyne has missed Manchester City’s past three matches with a groin injury. His presence has been missed given the fact that he is still one of, if not, Manchester City’s most creative midfielder. De Bruyne started the season in strong form before injury struck just before halftime of Manchester City’s nil-all draw with Inter Milan.
Manchester City will take on Slovan Bratislava tonight without De Bruyne and several other key players. Despite this, the champions have taken a strong squad to Slovakia and will be hoping to pick up their first victory of the Champions League league phase tonight against Slovan Bratislava.
