Manchester City’s most important player, Rodri, appears set to be out for the remainder of this season. City’s midfield general was substituted early during City’s 2-all draw with Arsenal with a knee injury. Now multiple reports have emerged that Rodri has ruptured his ACL and will miss the remainder of the 24/25 season.
Moises Llorens has reported for ESPN that Manchester City’s most important player suffered a season-ending injury yesterday. Llorens adds that tests carried out on Rodri’s knee this morning confirmed the extent of the injury suffered by the midfielder.

The news of Rodri being set to miss the remainder of the season is a massive blow for Manchester City. Rodri is Manchester City’s most important player and he is the heartbeat of City’s midfield. Over the past few seasons he has taken his place as the most dominant midfielder in world football. If the news is confirmed that Rodri is set to miss the remainder of the 24/25 season it will force Pep Guardiola to try different options to cover the loss of Rodri. So far this season Mateo Kovacic has stepped up in Rodri’s absence. The champions can also call on Ilkay Gundogan or potentially Matheus Nunes to step into the void left by Rodri’s absence.
As it stands currently Manchester City are yet to confirm the severity of Rodri’s injury. But the news doesn’t appear good for Rodri or Manchester City based on ESPN’s new report.
