After coming off with an injury during Manchester City’s draw with Inter Milan it appeared that Kevin De Bruyne would miss Sunday’s clash with Arsenal. A report from David McDonnell for the Mirror indicated the Belgian international would miss Sunday’s blockbuster fixture at the Etihad. But Pep Guardiola has revealed today that the Manchester City legend is still a chance to play this weekend.
Pep Guardiola was asked about the condition of Kevin De Bruyne during his pre-game press conference. He told the media that he is still a chance to feature against Mikel Arteta’s side: “Kevin feels a little better, but not yet. Tomorrow, we train, and we will see.” Guardiola added that De Bruyne isn’t yet ruled out of Sunday’s match: “He could be involved.”

It would be a boost for Manchester City to have De Bruyne available for Sunday’s clash with Arsenal. The Belgian international has often saved his best for the Gunners. Kevin De Bruyne has been crucial to City’s wins over Arsenal in recent seasons and it appears that he may yet have a role to play on Sunday. Given the strength of Arsenal’s defence he may be pivotal to City’s chances on Sunday if he does play.
Attention will now turn to Manchester City training to see if De Bruyne does train ahead of Sunday’s match. If he does train it would indicate that he could take his place in City’s lineup at the Etihad.
