So far this week off-field matters involving Manchester City have dominated the headlines. Manchester City’s hearing over the 115 alleged breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules case has finally gotten underway. That topic has been the focus of attention so far this week. As for matters on the pitch, Pep Guardiola’s side has a big week ahead of them.
It does feel that this week will see the 24/25 season finally click into gear. Manchester City have won all four of their Premier League games to open the new campaign. Last Saturday’s win over Brentford was a hard-fought one for the champions over a quality opponent. This isn’t a knock on Brentford who are a quality team, but this week will see City’s competition step up a gear.
Up first at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow evening Manchester City will take on Inter Milan to begin their UEFA Champions League campaign. Simone Inzaghi’s side will pose a tough test for the world champions. They dominated Serie A last season as they stormed to an emphatic Scudetto triumph. While they haven’t started this season as strongly they are a quality side.

While Inter Milan is currently the sole focus of Pep Guardiola and his players a big game will follow City’s clash with Inter. The champions will welcome Arsenal to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday in Premier League action. It will be the first meeting of last season’s title rivals and promises to be a pulsating affair. While Sunday’s match isn’t a title decider it is still a big game between two teams expected to battle it out for the Premier League title. Mikel Arteta’s side will be eager to show they can beat the world champions. Manchester City will be eager to maintain their hold over Arsenal, especially at the Etihad.
This week is looming as a big week for Manchester City. They will face Inter Milan and Arsenal in marquee fixtures. After a stunning start to the new season, it does finally feel like the 24/25 season is about to ramp up. It will be interesting to see how Manchester City fare against two quality opponents this week. There can be no doubt that Pep Guardiola will have his team ready for the challenges posed by Inter and Arsenal this week.
