The starting lineups are in ahead of Manchester City’s clash with Brentford

Manchester City and Brentford have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of today’s Premier League encounter at the Etihad Stadium. A tricky test may await Pep Guardiola’s side, given the fact that Thomas Frank’s side has traditionally made life difficult for the world champions. The Bees were the last team to beat City at the Etihad in November 2022.

For Manchester City, they’ll be looking to continue their perfect start to the 24/25 season. The champions have won their opening three games of the Premier League season against Chelsea, Ipswich Town and West Ham. A win against Brentford would make it four consecutive wins for the champions.

But they will have to face Brentford without Nathan Ake and Oscar Bobb. Bobb is out with a fractured leg. The young winger is unlikely to return until the end of the year. Ake picked up an injury on international duty with the Netherlands and Pep Guardiola confirmed that the defender is unlikely to return until the next international break.

Here are the starting lineups ahead of today’s clash at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola has made four changes to the starting lineup that beat West Ham a fortnight ago. In comes Kyle Walker, Ilkay Gundoga, Savinho and John Stones. Out goes Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, Bernardo Silva and Jeremy Doku.
