Pep Guardiola has today confirmed that a decision on Erling Haaland’s availability for Manchester City’s Premier League clash with Brentford is yet to be made. Manchester City’s top scorer and his family suffered a tragedy this week with the passing of close family friend Ivar Eggja. The sad news has meant that Erling Haaland’s availability for tomorrow’s match is in doubt.
Pep Guardiola was asked during his pre-game press conference if Erling Haaland would be available for tomorrow’s match. He told the media that Haaland will be given time to see if he can play tomorrow. Guardiola told the media: “It was a tough moment for him and his family. It was sad news. He was close to him and his family. 59 years old. Our thoughts are with him and his family. We will see tomorrow if he is mentally and physically able to play.”

It is expected that Erling Haaland’s availability for tomorrow’s match will be known when Manchester City arrive at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow. Typically it is known who is in City’s match day squad when the players disembark the bus at the Etihad. That should provide the answer if Haaland will play against Brentford.
