Phil Foden was light night crowned as the PFA Men’s Footballer of the Year. The award caps off a superb 23/24 campaign from Manchester City’s boy wonder. Last season saw Foden take his place as one of the premier players in the game. The PFA Men’s Player of the Year award further solidifies his status.
Foden adds the PFA Men’s Player of the Year award to two other major awards he took out last season. He was also named the Premier League Player of the Season and also took out the prestigious FWA Men’s Footballer of the Year award.

Foden was an integral piece to Manchester City’s historic fourth consecutive Premier League title last season. He scored 19 goals and added 8 assists in 35 games as his contribution was crucial to Manchester City’s successful season. The 23/24 season will be looked back upon as the best individual season of Phil Foden’s career to date. The challenge now for the England international is to maintain his standing at the top of the game. Foden has the talent and the will to do exactly that.

In an interview published on mancity.com Foden was quick to thank Pep Guardiola and his teammates for their support last season. Speaking after receiving the prestigious award, he said: “To win this award is something very special, and it is one that I am very proud of and grateful for. To be recognised this way by your fellow professionals means everything and I would like to thank everyone who voted for me. I also want to pay special thanks to Pep, the City coaches and all my teammates as they help me to try and get better every single day.”
Manchester City’s Director of Football, Txiki Begiristain, also had special praise for Foden after he claimed the PFA Men’s Player of the Year award. He said that the England international embodies everything the club stands for. Begiristain said: “Phil embodies everything we stand for at Manchester City. He is a supremely talented player but is someone who always strives to seek to improve and he is a very humble guy who is hugely popular throughout the Club. We are all very proud of him.”
There is no doubt that the 23/24 season was the best individual season to date in Phil Foden’s career. The sky is the limit for what he could become as a player based on what he has already achieved during his young career.
