England international Kalvin Phillips has completed a loan move to Ipswich Town. The midfielder will spend this season on loan with the newly promoted side in a bid to resurrect his career. Phillips has endured a frustrating time with Manchester City and will be hoping to impress with Ipswich Town this season.

The loan move for Kalvin Phillips was confirmed by Manchester City yesterday. He spent the second half of last season out on loan at West Ham in a bid to keep his place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for last summer’s European Championships. But he failed to impress at the Hammers and will be hoping for a better time at Ipswich Town.
Speaking during his pre-game press conference yesterday Pep Guardiola said a loan move was best for Kalvin Phillips this season. He told the media that Phillips wasn’t guaranteed minutes at Manchester City this season. He explained: “He (Phillips) has to have minutes and have to recover game time (and) play, play, play, play,” he explained. We thought maybe he will not have the minutes he has to be, and he deserves to be, and that’s why it is better to have minutes and the chance maybe in the future come back here.”
The loan move for Kalvin Phillips is best for Manchester City and the England international. He will now be able to focus on playing every week for Ipswich Town. If he can impress at the newly promoted side he may be able to get his career back on track after it has stalled in recent seasons.
