The starting lineups are in for today’s Community Shield clash between Manchester City and Manchester United

Manchester City and Manchester United have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of today’s FA Community Shield clash at Wembley. The 24/25 season will begin with a Manchester Derby as the Premier League champions face off against last season’s FA Cup winners.

Heading into today’s game Manchester City will be without four key players. John Stones, Kyle Walker, Phil Foden and Rodri will all miss today’s game. They are scheduled to return to the club next week after their exertions at the European Championships this summer. Pep Guardiola told the media earlier this week that he will manage his squad through the early stages of the new season. Another player who may be out of today’s game is Jack Grealish. A report from the Sun earlier today suggested that Grealish would miss today’s match with a minor injury.

Here are the starting lineups for both teams ahead of the opening game of the 24/25 season.
