Manchester City could sign two more players but only at the right price

With the 24/25 season set to get underway for Manchester City against Manchester United in the FA Community Shield on Saturday, the champions appear to be entering the new season with a strong squad. Savinho has arrived at the club from Troyes to strengthen City’s attacking options. But they could add more players this summer to further strengthen their squad. But they will only move if the players City want are available at the right price.

Speaking before Manchester City takes on Manchester United at Wembley Pep Guardiola told the media that the champions could add to their squad. But they will only pay the right price for players rather than be held to ransom over transfer fees. Guardiola told the media: “If I have some concerns I speak with Txiki (Begiristain). We will see but we would not want to spend a lot of money on players who would not play many games. If we need someone, it has to be at the right price.

The champions appear set to lose Julian Alvarez in the coming days. Alvarez looks set to join Atletico Madrid shortly. Guardiola also told the media that Manchester City may also look at finding a player to provide support for Erling Haaland. He told the media: “We will see until the end of the market if we really need a striker just in case (we need a) backup for Erling. Erling is not going to play all the schedule we have ahead of us. With all the games he won’t be able to play all of them. We have to think about it if we have another solution.

If Manchester City can add another midfielder and an attacking player their squad will be complete.

As it stands, currently, there are very few holes in the Manchester City squad. The champions appear well set to challenge on all fronts next season with quality all through their ranks. There is also the exciting prospect of James McAtee and Nico O’Reilly adding to Pep Guardiola’s squad this season. If the champions end the transfer window with the squad they have, they will be well set for next season. But despite this fact, if they can add two key pieces to their squad, it will complement what Pep Guardiola already has at his disposal.

Support for Rodri appears to the the most pressing need. The champions face a busier schedule next season and their midfield general can’t be expected to play in every game. If the champions can find a player to provide quality support for Rodri it will be a massive bonus for Manchester City. With Julian Alvarez set to leave the club another attacking player could come in. If they can land a player for that role it will give Pep Guardiola every option he needs to challenge on all fronts next season. If City do make any moves in the remaining weeks of the transfer window is now a story to watch for going forward.

The world champions appear well-set for next season based on their current squad. But two more players coming in in crucial roles for Manchester City will complete their squad for next season. It remains to be seen who those players could be but if City can land those players they have the potential to be the final pieces needed to complete Pep Guardiola’s squad.
