A German prodigy reportedly views Manchester City as an attractive destination

Eventually, the time will come when Manchester City has to replace Kevin De Bruyne. That may not happen this summer but that time does appear to be sooner rather than later. As previously reported, the circumstances do appear to be lining up for a future move by the world champions for Bayern Munich prodigy Jamal Musiala. Now a new report indicates that the German international views Manchester City as an ‘attractive destination’.

Spanish publication Fichajes has reported that Musiala views Manchester City as an attractive destination to continue his career. Fichajes further reports that Musiala is considering his future at Bayern Munich. Furthermore, Fichajes adds that Musiala is reportedly unhappy with Bayern Munich’s recruitment policy.

Fichajes’ new report adds another layer to City’s reported interest in Jamal Musiala.

The new report from Fichajes adds another intriguing layer to the case for Manchester City eventually moving for Jamal Musiala. Christian Falk has previously reported in his exclusive Daily Briefing column that the world champions have an interest in signing the Bayern Munich playmaker. But with Fichajes also reporting that Musiala is considering his future at Bayern it’s yet another small sign that the stars are aligning for a future City move for Musiala.

It is highly unlikely that Manchester City would move for Musiala this summer. There is no indication that Musiala is considering a move from Bayern this summer. It is also highly unlikely that the champions will be big players in this summer’s transfer window. Speaking before Manchester City’s 4-3 friendly loss to Celtic Pep Guardiola explained that he isn’t expecting any major moves from his club this summer. He told the media: “I don’t rule out new players as an option. But I think there is an 85, 90, 95% chance we will have the same squad. I feel comfortable, because the quality of human beings we have in the squad is difficult to be replaced, and the quality is there. But we’ll see. I don’t know in the last moment if someone comes for some players and they leave, we’re going to decide.

Summary

Taking into consideration Guardiola’s comments about City’s summer transfer window plans and the likelihood that Musiala will not leave Bayern this summer it doesn’t appear to be a move that City will make this summer. But in 12 months time that may be an entirely different proposition. The stars do appear to be aligning for a potential Manchester City move for Jamal Musiala in the future. Musiala’s future remains a story to monitor going forward. The new report from Fichajes is yet another indication that City could potentially move for one of the brightest young stars in the world game.
