This summer is shaping up as a quiet one for Manchester City

It had appeared that a rebuild of the Manchester City squad could have been on the cards this summer. Several key players were linked with potential moves this summer. But as it stands currently it may be a quiet summer for the Premier League champions.

It did appear that there could be the possibility of Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Ederson leaving City this summer. If they were to leave the champions would have been forced to replace several key players. But that doesn’t appear to be the case. Fabrizio Romano has reported that De Bruyne is likely to remain at City for next season. Rudy Galleti has reported for TEAMTALK that Al Nassr have given City a 48-hour deadline to accept their offer for Ederson. It doesn’t appear likely that City will accept Al-Nassr’s reported bid for their number one keeper. This will likely see City’s number one remain at the club for next season. Lastly, Sam Lee has reported for the Athletic that Manchester City expect Bernardo Silva to remain at the club for next season.

Based on the available information it appears that a quiet summer awaits Manchester City. With key players set to remain at the club City can afford to sign only what they need this summer. Simon Bajkowski has reported for Manchester Evening News that the situation with the City squad will see them not move for Dani Olmo. Furthermore, Bajkowski adds that there isn’t space for Olmo in City’s squad currently. Lastly, adds that the champions are in the market for cover for Rodri but there hasn’t been any movement on that front at this stage.

All things told it does look like it will be a quiet summer for the world champions. Given the strength of the City squad if they can find cover for Rodri alongside the arrival of Savio it will be a successful summer window for Manchester City. While it may not create the headlines it would fill two needs for Pep Guardiola’s squad heading into the 24/25 season.
