There may be a wait to see Manchester City’s dynamic new winger in action

It has been a quiet summer so far for Manchester City. As it stands currently the champions are yet to officially announce a signing this summer. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has previously reported that City have completed a deal to sign Brazilian international Savio. But as it stands there may be a wait to see Manchester City’s new signing in action for the champions based on a new report.

Journalist Rômulo Giacomin has reported that Savio will be left out of Manchester City’s pre season tour of the United States. Giacomin adds that the Brazilian international is currently on holidays after Brazil’s exit from the Copa America. Furthermore, Giacomin adds that Savio is set to join Manchester City’s pre season training when they return to England.

There is no rush for Savio to begin his Manchester City career.

It has been a long season for Savio. He played 41 times last season for Girona during their stunning 23/24 season in La Liga. The Brazilian international was an integral part of Girona’s rise to qualify for the UEFA Champions League last season for the first time in the club’s history. He was then in action for Brazil during their disappointing Copa America campaign. The young winger has earned his rest after a successful 23/24 season. While there is a level of excitement surrounding the Brazilian’s arrival at the Etihad there is no rush for Savio to begin his career at the champions.

Savio will be better served by being well rested to begin his City career. After such a long 23/24 season the Brazilian will be faced with a new challenge next season. The challenges of Manchester City’s schedule are well known. Pep Guardiola’s side faces a more hectic schedule next season. Savio appears to have the talent and could be an important squad player for Pep Guardiola next season. With this in mind the opportunity for Savio to rest could be important for the young winger. It should ensure that when he arrives at the champions he will be ready to hit the ground running.

There may be a wait to see Savio in action for Manchester City. But this may be for the best given the schedule he faced throughout the 23/24 season.
