Erling Haaland could be primed for big 24/25 season after a summer of rest

With the European Championships and Copa America dominating the headlines this summer one Manchester City player has had to sit back and relax this summer. In an era where rest for players is at a premium, one City star will be well-rested and eager to hit the ground running next season. That may set the scene for Erling Haaland to have a big 24/25 season for Manchester City.

Unfortunately for Erling Haaland Norway failed to qualify for the European Championships. While it was a disappointment for City’s star striker there was a silver lining for Haaland. He instead had the chance to rest after his efforts for club and country over the past two seasons. Erling Haaland missed two months of last season due to a foot injury. His time off over the summer would’ve given the striker the chance to rest any ailments and should see him come into City’s pre-season fit and raring to go. That could be bad news for City’s rivals heading into next season.

The prospect of a fit and rested Erling Haaland is a tantalising one for Manchester City and their fans. When Haaland is fully fit and firing he is arguably the most dangerous striker in world football. Over the past two seasons, he has scored 90 goals in 98 games for the world champions (stats courtesy of transfermarkt.com). He may also have a point to prove at the beginning of next season after missing out on the European Championships. Norway’s loss could be Manchester City’s gain next season.

City’s star striker is already one of the most driven players in the game. Haaland with a point to prove could become one of the most lethal weapons in the Premier League next season. If Haaland hits the 24/25 season running it could set the scene for another spectacular season from City’s number 9.
