The case for Manchester City signing an RB Leipzig midfielder is mounting

As the summer transfer window begins to stir it is becoming apparent that Manchester City are set to finally begin making moves. One player that City have continuously been linked with this summer is Dani Olmo. But after watching the RB Leipzig midfielder star for Spain during their 2-1 win over Germany the case is mounting for City to sign the Spanish international.

Dani Olmo starred for Spain yesterday at Euro 24. He scored one and set up the winner for his country in their extra-time win over Germany. The win booked Spain’s spot in the semi-finals against Portugal. But it also showed that Olmo is a player who thrives on the big stage. He put in a man-of-the-match display as Spain sealed a famous victory. Olmo was at the heart of Spain’s attacking moves and was a constant threat to the German defence. Based on that display and his showings for RB Leipzig he appears to be a player who could thrive at the Etihad.

With question marks surrounding the future of Kevin De Bruyne, there may be an opening in Pep Guardiola’s squad for Dani Olmo. There may well be one for Olmo if De Bruyne stays at Manchester City. The RB Leipzig midfielder has the game that could easily slot into City’s squad. With his fantastic technical ability and versatility, he looks to be the perfect Manchester City signing. His recent displays for Spain have just further emphasised this fact.

A Manchester City move for Olmo could be on the horizon. BILD has reported that the ‘track leading Olmo to City is really hot.’ Based on his recent displays it’s an obvious signing to make for the world champions. Olmo’s quality has always been obvious even though he has had several injury concerns in recent seasons. The hope is now that City will move for Olmo. As Euro 24 has progressed the case almost appears overwhelming for Olmo to find his way to the Etihad this summer.
