Manchester City may have already found their next star winger

A recent report from Pete O’Rourke for indicated that Manchester City were in the market for a “world-class” wide forward this summer. Across the summer a host of wingers have been linked with potential moves to the world champions. But have they already found their next star winger?

As the Copa America continues it appears that Manchester City may have already found their next star winger. Savio has caught the eye for Brazil during their two games at the competition. Based on his displays for Brazil at the tournament it appears that Savio could have a role to play for Pep Guardiola’s team next season.

His performance during Brazil’s 4-1 win over Paraguay showed that he could play on City’s right wing if/when he arrives at the Etihad. With his ability to cut inside from the right and his eye for a pass and goal Savio appears readymade to make an impact for the world champions. Against Paraguay, his talent was on full display as he put in an action-packed performance. He got himself on the score sheet and was a constant threat to the Paraguayan defence.

Savio appears to be the player who could make an impact on City’s right wing.

The prodigious talent of the young Brazilian international is obvious whenever he steps on the pitch whether it’s with Brazil or for Girona last season. It seems clear that Savio could make an immediate impact for Manchester City when he finally arrives at the Etihad. Given he has shone on the right wing for Brazil there doesn’t appear to be any reason that he can’t do similar for the world champions. He may just need an opportunity to show what he is capable of. If Savio is given that the sky maybe the limit for what he could become for the Premier League champions.

Fabrizio Romano has previously reported that City have sealed a deal for Savio with his club Troyes. It seems to only be a matter of when the deal is finally made official.

Manchester City may need to look no further for a “world-class” wide forward. They may already have one in Savio set to arrive at the club imminently. If he is given the chance to impress by Pep Guardiola he may be the player to take over on Manchester City’s right wing.
