Could Bayern Munich’s stuttering chase for a new manager lead Jamal Musiala to seek a summer move to Manchester City? The Bundesliga giants current manager, Thomas Tuchel, will depart the club at the end of the season. Recent reports indicate that Bayern is having a difficult time finding a suitable replacement for Tuchel. Bayern Munich’s stuttering chase for a manager may inadvertently play into City’s hands this summer.

Jacob Steinberg has previously reported for the Guardian that Jamal Musiala is a top target for the world champions. Furthermore, Steinberg also reports that Bayern Munich will not want to lose their star playmaker this summer. But, it is also reported by Steinberg that Bayern may face a difficult time convincing Musiala of their ambition. If this proves to be the case, it may play into Manchester City’s hands this summer.

It has been reported by FourFourTwo that Bayern Munich recently saw Ralf Ragnick reject the opportunity to take over from Thomas Tuchel. Furthermore, they also report that Xabi Alonso and Julian Nagelsmann have also turned down the Bundesliga giants. If Bayern can’t find a suitable manager to convince Musiala that his future lies in Germany, he may seek a challenge elsewhere this summer.

If this were to occur, it could set the scene for Manchester City to make a move for Musiala. The chance to sign players of Musiala’s quality doesn’t come around often. There is also no doubt that Bayern Munich would take some convincing to part ways with Musiala. If Musiala won’t commit his future to Bayern and requests a transfer, that situation could force Bayern Munich’s hand. The longer Bayern Munich struggles to find a manager, the more the prospect of that possibility becoming a reality does not appear to be unrealistic.

While there remains a lot to play out in regards to Jamal Musiala’s future, the ideal set of circumstances for the German international to hit the transfer market may be at play. If they do come to fruition, it could set the scene for Manchester City to pounce in the summer transfer window.
