Could City’s captain depart for Saudi Arabia this summer and would Manchester City sell their captain?

Could Manchester City’s captain Kyle Walker depart the club for a Saudi Pro League money this summer? A new report indicates that City’s captain is considering a move to the Gulf State once this season ends.

Matthew Cooper has reported for the Mirror that Kyle Walker has sought advice from former teammate Riyad Mahrez about life in the Middle East. Furthermore, Cooper reports that issues in Walker’s private life have seen the England international contemplate a move to the Saudi Pro League. It is also reported by Cooper that City’s captain is happy at Manchester City. Cooper further reports that Walker believes a move to Saudi Arabia could see him escape media scrutiny.

If Manchester City receives a sizable fee for Kyle Walker, it may be the end of Walker’s City career.

If Manchester City were to receive a sizable bid for Walker, they may contemplate selling their captain. City’s captain has made 43 appearances in all competitions this season for the world champions. But he is also closer to the end of his career rather than the beginning.

If the Saudi Pro League did put a sizable bid for the 33 year old right-back, Manchester City would have to consider the approach. For arguments sake, if a £30 million offer came in for City’s captain, it would have to be considered. If Kyle Walker is keen to make the move to the Middle East, it may take the decision out of City’s hands. If he does depart it could also accelerate City’s plans to refresh the right-back position.

Kyle Walker has had a decorated career at Manchester City. Across his City career, he has won 5 Premier League titles, 4 Carabao Cups, 2 FA Cups, and one UEFA Champions League title. He has been an integral piece of City’s modern era of dominance.

But at some point, Walker’s City career will come to an end. It may come to a head this summer given the circumstances that surrounds City’s captain. Kyle Walker’s future may become a story to watch for come the end of the season.
