His second half goal sealed City’s crucial 2-nil win on Sunday. But he looked back to his best, which is an ominous sign for Manchester City’s opponents over the final stages of the season.
Prior to his performance on Sunday, Erling Haaland had appeared tired during his most recent appearances. He was kept in check by Real Madrid’s defence during City’s heartbreaking UEFA Champions League quarter-final defeat to Real Madrid. Following City’s heartbreaking penalty shootout defeat to Real Madrid City’s star striker had missed City’s past two games prior to Sunday’s victory with a muscle injury.
But the two game break has appeared to do Erling Haaland, the world of good. He looked fit and ready to return to the form that established him as the world’s best striker. If Haaland does return to that form, it may set Manchester City on the path to a Premier League/FA Cup double this season.

It’s been scratching inside of me to get back, and now I’m back and feeling good. I’m ready to attack the last five finals.”
