Manchester City are handed a massive boost ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Manchester City has been handed a massive boost ahead of Sunday’s clash against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. Star striker Erling Haaland has returned to training, meaning the champions now have a full squad available for selection.

In images shared via the official Manchester City X account City’s star striker was pictured returning to training after a muscle injury. Erling Haaland had missed City’s past two wins over Chelsea and Brighton due to injury. It is a welcome boost for the champions to have their striker back in contention for Sunday’s massive Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest.

Manchester City’s number 9 also shared images of his return to training via his official X account. Haaland has scored 31 goals in 39 appearances so far this season to be City’s top scorer in all competitions. His impending return means Pep Guardiola will now have a full squad to pick from for Sunday’s pivotal Premier League match against Nottingham Forest.

Following City’s 4-nil win over Brighton, Pep Guardiola hinted at Haaland’s return during his post game press conference. The City manager was asked about Haaland’s injury status following City’s emphatic victory. He told the media: “I prefer to have Erling at my disposal than to have it [the squad without him]. I spoke with him, and he says he feels better. I don’t know.

With Erling Haaland pictured training, it appears Pep Guardiola has his answer about Haaland’s availability for Sunday’s match. The striker appears over the injury he suffered against Real Madrid, which is a welcome boost for City’s chase for a Premier League/FA Cup double this season.
