Following City’s 4-nil win over Brighton, Pep Guardiola hinted at Haaland’s return during his post game press conference. The City manager was asked about Haaland’s injury status following City’s emphatic victory. He told the media: “I prefer to have Erling at my disposal than to have it [the squad without him]. I spoke with him, and he says he feels better. I don’t know.”
With Erling Haaland pictured training, it appears Pep Guardiola has his answer about Haaland’s availability for Sunday’s match. The striker appears over the injury he suffered against Real Madrid, which is a welcome boost for City’s chase for a Premier League/FA Cup double this season.
