There was mixed news on the injury front from Manchester City training earlier today. An update from SkySports appears to cast doubt on two of City’s key players ahead of their clash with Brighton at the Amex Stadium. While there was positive news on another key piece of the Manchester City defence joining in training with the full City squad.
SkySports News reported via their official X account that Erling Haaland and Phil Foden were both absent from Manchester City training earlier today. With the duo failing to train, it does cast doubt on their availability for Thursday night’s match at the Amex Stadium. Erling Haaland missed Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final win for City against Chelsea due to a muscle injury. Pep Guardiola told the media before City’s win that Haaland may miss City’s clash with Brighton.
Phil Foden did play the entire game in City’s hard fought win over Chelsea. It is unclear at this stage what forced Foden to be absent from City training earlier today.

There was, however, positive news on the status of John Stones. The England international took part in training with his teammates. Stones was substituted at half-time of City’s win over Chelsea. He did appear to not be 100% fit during the first half of Saturday’s game at Wembley.
Pep Guardiola is expected to provide an update on the status of his squad when he faces the media tomorrow. It is another critical game for the champions at the Amex Stadium against Brighton.
