Is a Spanish international a part of City’s summer transfer plans?

Is RB Leipzig’s Spanish international Dani Olmo a player that Manchester City could land this summer? A recent report indicates that they are making moves to potentially sign the Spanish international this summer.

A report from Mundo Deportivo, which was relayed by TeamTalk, indicates that Manchester City has met with the agents and father of Dani Olmo. Furthermore, they report that the purpose of the meeting was to gauge Olmo’s interest in moving to Manchester City. They add that the €60 million release clause in the contract of Dani Olmo makes it a relatively simple deal to complete.

It is looming as an important summer transfer window for Manchester City. Last summer’s signings have had varying degrees of success so far this season. Josko Gvardiol has established himself as a first team regular given his fine play at left-back this season. Mateo Kovacic has also shown that he has an important role to play for Pep Guardiola’s squad this season. Belgian winger Jeremy Doku has shown that he has a bright future ahead of him at the world champions. However, Matheus Nunes has so far failed to find a permanent role in Pep Guardiola’s squad. The Portuguese international has appeared to have a hard time adjusting to life at Manchester City. While his talent isn’t in question, his suitability to play for the club does appear to be a valid question.

With the City squad carrying a heavy workload each season, it does appear that some reinforcement is needed to Pep Guardiola’s squad. Spanish international Dani Olmo has the potential to be one player who could add depth and quality to the Manchester City squad. With his versatility and technical quality, he does appear ideally suited to life at the world champions.
