Manchester City name a 21-man travelling squad for Real Madrid match

Manchester City has named a 21-man travelling squad for tomorrow night’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final first clash against Real Madrid. Tomorrow’s first leg kicks off at 20:00 (UK time) at the Bernabeu. The European champions will be hoping to bring a positive result back to Manchester from their trip to face Carlo Ancelotti’s side. The second leg takes place on Wednesday the 18th of April at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola was unable to call upon Kyle Walker and Nathan Ake for tomorrow night’s match. The pair failed to train with Manchester City squad earlier today. They will both now miss City’s clash with the La Liga leaders. Croatian defender

Josko Gvardiol did, however, take his place with the City travelling party. An earlier report from Manchester Evening News journalist Joe Bray indicated that Gvardiol was in doubt for the game as he also missed training. But he will travel with the City squad, which is a bonus for the world champions. Attention will now shift to Pep Guardiola’s pre game press conference for a further update on Gvardiol’s condition ahead of tomorrow’s massive fixture.

Besides Kyle Walker and Nathan Ake being unavailable the treble winners have a full squad to choose from.

The full Manchester City travelling squad is as follows: Ruben Dias, John Stones, Mateo Kovacic, Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish, Jeremy Doku, Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne, Stefan Ortega, Julian Alvarez, Bernardo Silva, Sergio Gomez, Josko Gvardiol, Manuel Akanji, Matheus Nunes, Ederson, Scott Carson, Phil Foden, Oscar Bobb, Mahamadou Susoho, Rico Lewis.
