The team doctor of the Norwegian national team has clarified the injury situation surrounding Erling Haaland. City’s number 9 limped out of training with his national team yesterday, which sent a scare through Manchester City that their star striker had suffered a fresh injury setback.
But in an interview with Norwegian television outlet TV2, which was relayed by Sam Lee of the Athletic, the team doctor for Norway said there was no injury problem suffered by Erling Haaland.
Haaland limped out of Norway training earlier but the team doctor, speaking to TV2, says “no problem”.

The update on Erling Haaland’s condition will come as a relief to Manchester City. With the business end of the season set to begin the world champions will want their top goalscorer fit and firing for the final stages of the season. Erling Haaland has scored 29 goals in 34 appearances this season. He has a crucial role to play as the champions chase history for the remainder of this season.
Currently Manchester City has Ederson, Jack Grealish and Kevin De Bruyne out of action during this international break. Grealish returned to the Manchester City squad for their win over Newcastle last weekend. He should be in line to return against Arsenal after the international break. Pep Guardiola will also be hopeful that De Bruyne and Ederson can also feature against Mikel Arteta’s side.
Attention will now shift to Norway’s friendlies against the Czech Republic and Slovakia over the international break. How much Erling Haaland plays in both games may give a clue to his condition before Manchester City’s players return for the final stages of the season.
