Manchester City will face Real Madrid in the quarter-final stage of this year’s UEFA Champions League. The European champions booked their place in the final 8 of this season’s competition with a 6-2 aggregate win over FC Copenhagen in the Round of 16 of the competition.
The quarter-final clash will see a renewal of their recent rivalry. The two teams have faced off in the semi-final stage of the competition in the past two seasons. Real Madrid claimed a 6-5 aggregate win over Manchester City in the 2022 semi-final en route to winning the Champions League. Pep Guardiola’s side returned the favour last season with a dominant 5-1 aggregate win on their way to their first-ever UEFA Champions League crown last season. A famous 4-nil win over Real Madrid at the Etihad was the standout performance of City’s run to the title last campaign.
