But given it’s the Manchester derby a draw or worse isn’t a thought that is entering City fan’s thoughts. With pride and bragging rights at stake, it’s a must-win fixture for all of those reasons and more.

The performance in the fifth round of the FA Cup at Kenilworth Road sets the scene for the world champions to arrive at kick-off in menacing form. With Erling Haaland scoring 5 in midweek and Kevin De Bruyne supplying 4 assists City’s dynamic duo enter today’s game in top shape. They could be a decisive factor in today’s game given how well they played in midweek.
Manchester United will be hoping to put a dent in City’s title ambitions today. While there does appear to be a gap in quality between the two sides anything is possible in a derby. Erik ten Hag’s side will be keen to show that they are catching their local rivals with a good performance.
