What happened in the previous meeting between the two teams
The two teams played out a pulsating 4-all draw at Stamford Bridge earlier this season. It was the perfect advertisement for the Premier League in what was an enthralling encounter.

As it stands Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic and Sergio Gomez didn’t travel with the Manchester City squad for their Champions League Round of 16 clash with FC Copenhagen tonight.
There was no update provided on the status of the trio by City manager Pep Guardiola when he spoke with the media before tonight’s clash with FC Copenhagen. An update on the trio may come when the City manager faces the media on Friday before Saturday’s match against Chelsea.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side has several injury concerns ahead of this weekend’s trip to the Etihad.
Thiago Silva hobbled off with an apparent groin injury during Chelsea’s win at Selhurst Park. Pochettino confirmed that the Brazilian defender had felt something in his post-game press conference.
Chelsea’s defensive stocks will be severely depleted for the match against the world champions. Reece James, Benoit Badiashile, Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana are all rules out of the game.
