Manchester City reportedly close to adding reinforcement to their right wing

Manchester City are reportedly close to completing a deal for on-loan Girona winger Savio. The Brazilian winger has starred on loan with the La Liga surprise packets this campaign. Savio is currently on loan from Ligue One side Troyes to Girona for this season. His impressive form during Girona’s campaign has seemingly earned him his dream move to the European champions.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Manchester City have completed the deal with Troyes to sign the Brazilian winger. The transfer expert broke the news via his official X account.

With the signing of Savio appearing imminent Manchester City has wasted no time in planning for next season. The treble winner’s squad did appear to be short of options on the right wing and Savio’s reported arrival this summer does add a dynamic option for Pep Guardiola on City’s right-hand side. Currently, Guardiola prefers to deploy Bernardo Silva or Phil Foden on City’s right-hand side. Jeremy Doku can also play on the right-hand side but he has been preferred on the left. Oscar Bobb is another option for the future as his game develops.

With Savio’s reported arrival it does fill a need for the European champions squad. It could also set up a tantalising battle between Bobb and Savio for the right-wing position in the future. Given Savio’s age, he wouldn’t immediately demand first-team football and could follow in Oscar Bobb’s footsteps and learn while training with the City first team.
