Pep Guardiola and Kevin De Bruyne nominated for Manager and Player of the Month awards

Pep Guardiola and Kevin De Bruyne have been nominated for the Premier League Manager and Player of the Month awards for January.

City manager Pep Guardiola has been shortlisted for the award alongside Jurgen Klopp, Mikel Arteta and Luton Town manager Rob Edwards. The City boss led his side to two wins in the Premier League last month. City beat Newcastle and Burnley in January. They also progressed in the FA Cup last month with victories over Huddersfield Town and Tottenham. Guardiola has previously won the award 11 times during his time with Manchester City.

Kevin De Bruyne has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month alongside Connor Bradley, Diego Jota, Richarlison and Elijah Adebayo.

City’s inspirational midfielder has been in superb form since his return from injury. The highlight performance of January from De Bruyne was his sublime cameo against Newcastle. He scored one and set up the winner for Oscar Bobb in City’s 3-2 win at St. James Park. It was a virtuoso cameo performance that reminded the Premier League of just how great the midfielder is.

Pep Guardiola and Kevin De Bruyne will find out if they win the awards when they are announced on Friday the 16th of February.
