A Manchester City star appears determined to improve at City despite contstant Real Madrid links

Manchester City star Erling Haaland appears determined to improve. In an exclusive interview with the Manchester City official podcast, the striker said he was determined to develop his game under Pep Guardiola.

It would be a frightening thought for City’s rivals if the Norwegian striker improved his overall game. The Manchester City star has already scored 71 goals in 76 appearances for the club. But this season before injury struck had seen Haaland begin to improve his overall game. He had been getting involved more in Pep Guardiola’s side’s build-up play as he continues to develop. It appears to be the next step in the evolution of the goal-scoring machine.

Speaking on the official Manchester City podcast Haaland said he was trying to develop all aspects of his game. Haaland said: “There are loads of things for me to still improve. When you play so many games it is difficult to train on specific things. I want to become an even better player with the team. I want to be more solid with the team and to perform in the biggest games and recreate things we did last season.”

The Manchester City star also spoke of how much he enjoys life at the club. Haaland added: “From the first day I arrived I enjoyed the vibe in the locker room and the CFA, it is a place I want to come and it’s an environment I want to be in. I think you can see that on the pitch. You can feel the energy and the positivity. I really enjoyed it from the first moment.”

Despite constant Real Madrid links Haaland appears happy at Manchester City

There have been constant links to Real Madrid recently. Spanish publication El Desmarque has reported that Haaland does not enjoy living in Manchester and would prefer a move to Real Madrid.

But in his interview with the official Manchester City podcast, the star striker appears happy at the club and in his surroundings. He spoke with pride about the team’s camaraderie. Haaland said: “At City, we are an amazing group of players and people. That’s two different things. One is players – we are the best team in the world – but there is also the human side of these players and we get along so well. If you get on together then you play better together.”

Summary

With Haaland having just returned to the pitch after a foot injury he appears happy to be back and doing what he loves. Pep Guardiola told the media during his pre-game press conference that the striker is ready to start against Brentford.

While it wouldn’t be expected that Haaland would air any grievances on an official club production he gives the impression that he is enjoying life at City and there appears to be no imminent departure on the horizon.

With Erling Haaland back on the pitch and happy at the treble winners City will be looking for their star striker to help them on their treble defence.
