Are Manchester City’s dynamic duo set to reunite against Burnley?

Could we see Manchester City’s dynamic duo Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland finally reunite in this evening’s Premier League clash with Burnley? The pair haven’t played together since the corresponding fixture on the opening day of the season. Injuries have meant the pair have both missed significant chunks of the season. But it appears that they are both in line to feature against Vincent Kompany’s side.

There is no doubt that Pep Guardiola’s side is a more formidable outfit with Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland in it. The pair are arguably the best in the world at their respective positions. Last season Haaland scored 52 goals in all competitions with 13 of those assisted by Kevin De Bruyne. City’s dynamic duo have an almost telepathic understanding and it’s De Bruyne’s genius that so often opens up chances for Haaland.

There is no doubt that the world champions are well-placed this season to try and defend the treble. The work of the City squad to get them into their current position Kevin De Bruyne and Haaland has laid the foundation for the rest of the season. The pair are now fit enough to return and add their sizeable quality to Manchester City’s cause.

To defend the treble and have a chance at doing something unprecedented Pep Guardiola will need Haaland and De Bruyne on the pitch. The pair are bonafide match winners and make the champions a better side. City are a strong side without them but they go up another level with them on the park. There can be no doubt of that fact.

Tonight’s game against Burnley may finally see City’s dynamic duo reunite on the pitch. If they return in form it could be a vital weapon in City’s treble defence.
