Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was thrilled to see his side progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup. The FA Cup holders put in a fantastic display to beat Tottenham 1-nil overnight. It was City’s first win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after failing to win their first 5 games at the ground.
Speaking post-game the City manager was thrilled with how his side had performed. Pep Guardiola told the media: “Our performance was top class. These players prove again the reason why they have done what they have done in the past.”
The City manager also knows the stakes during the second half of the season. It is generally this time of the season when his team thrives. Guardiola added: “We played with incredible personality. All the players were top otherwise we cannot do it. Now in the second part of the season, if we lose we lose competitions, in the FA Cup, Premier League, Champions League, we know how strong all the teams are.”
