Could Kalvin Phillips impending move to West Ham unlock a Brazilian international’s move to Manchester City?
Ahad Shaukat reports for caughtoffside.com that Kalvin Phillips plus cash could see Lucas Paqueta move to the Etihad in the summer. Shaukat relays a report from Manchester City insider ‘Tolmie’s Hairdo’ that a fee of £45 million and Kalvin Phillips moving to West Ham could see the Brazilian international’s dream move to the European champions finally be complete. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that an obligation to buy Phillips is included in the midfielder’s loan deal with West Ham.
£45m plus Kalvin Phillips will get the Paqueta deal done this summer. Certainly West Ham still expects Paqueta to want to come to City if he is cleared by then. Excellent deal.

It could be a piece of shrewd business if a sale of Kalvin Phillips could land Manchester City Lucas Paqueta. The Brazilian international almost joined the world champions last summer. But a betting investigation into Paqueta saw the deal collapse. Sami Mokbel reported for the Daily Mail that the FA investigation into the West Ham star scuppered the deal.
The prospect of Lucas Paqueta potentially arriving at Manchester City is an exciting one. He has starred for David Moyes side this season as West Ham has risen to 6th in the Premier League. He has scored 5 goals and added 6 assists in 27 appearances in all competitions this season. The addition of Paqueta to an exciting Manchester City midfield is a tantalising thought. With his eye for a pass and all-round ability, he seems a perfect fit for Pep Guardiola’s side.
If Kalvin Phillips departure brings Lucas Paqueta to the Etihad it would be a massive win for Manchester City.
